Jeff, the founder and lead guide of Boss Fishing Guide, brings unmatched passion and knowledge to every fishing trip. With over 25 years of experience in the fishing industry, Jeff has dedicated his life to sharing his love of fishing with people of all ages. He especially enjoys seeing the smiles and high fives that are often seen in his boat.  

 

Jeff is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain with an Assistance Towing endorsement and is certified in CPR and First Aid. As a multi-species fishing guide, he specializes in largemouth and smallmouth bass, primarily guiding on lakes and rivers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and western Wisconsin.  

 

Throughout his 25+ years of guiding, Jeff has also been heavily involved in tournament fishing at the highest levels in Minnesota and Wisconsin. His achievements include:  

- 25+ years of tournament experience  

- Dozens of wins in bass tournaments in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin  

- 2-time winner of a new bass boat  

- Minnetonka Classic 1st place champion (over 100 boats)  

- Classic Bass Champions Tour competitor  

 

Jeff’s passion for guiding and teaching extends beyond the water. With 30 years of experience as a school teacher and coach, he has been leading fishing camps for over 25 years and was formerly the head coach for the Minnehaha Academy Fishing Team. He has also served as the Fishers of Men Western WI Tournament Director and the Minnesota Fishers of Men Chaplain.  

 

Jeff’s dedication to youth fishing is evident through his long-standing involvement in organizing and running youth fishing camps, including being a Fishing for Life summer staff member.  

 

His personal best largemouth bass weighs over 11 lbs. (caught outside of Minnesota), and he proudly partners with MG Lures.
